Let’s Talk Design (since 2013) is a series of evenings with speakers from the creative sector talking about their work. At our events, we let established creatives talk about their work next to young & upcoming talent. Our events are all about getting inspired and connect with fellow creatives in an open low-key environment.

Nuria Cabrera
Design Lead at Verve (NL)

Nuria Cabrera is Verve’s Design Lead. Over the last decade, Nuria’s passion for design has taken her from Mallorca to Barcelona, London, and now Amsterdam. Along this journey, she has breathed life into brands of all sizes: ranging from independent family businesses to global icons like Coca Cola, Meta, Seat, and Air Canada.

A believer in designers being part of the entire creative process, Nuria breathes life into brands with her keen eye for intelligent, true and timeless design. At Verve, her strong typographic sense and adaptable approach has helped transform strong products into living brands.

Pieter Willems of Pjotr
— Graphic Design

Pieter Willems (°1981) is founder, manager and one third of Pjotr in Gent. Brecht Van Stappen and Erin Scott are the other thirds. The three of us work as designers on different projects, with a focus on art-direction, editorial design and communication for partners in the cultural field. Our designs are clear, playful and strongly typographic.

In his talk, he wants to focus on design as a “game”, based on a few cases. He believes designs are stronger and more engaging when they contain an element of play. And also for ourselves as designers, play is a way to keep our daily work interesting and more challenging.

Eva Lynen
— Illustrator

Eva Lynen (1997) is active as an illustrator and visual artist. Within her visual work, she is a storyteller. Using fictional characters and locations, she searches for the right setting to depict an event. These are sometimes based on personal experiences but often on the everyday banality of life. These stories are portrayed by different characters, resulting in colorful and playful images where color and composition play an important role.

Davy Denduyver
— Graphic Designer

Davy Denduyver is an independent graphic designer/creative director from Bruges, Belgium. His practice focuses on branding, visual identity, music, merchandise and everything in between.

Strongly inspired by his creative roots in the hardcore punk scene and DIY culture, he often seeks out ways to make his work less digital even by just a slight twist, thus playing with the element of surprise.
