6 Questions with illustrator Sasa Ostoja

How and when did you start drawing?

I graduated as a fine artist, around 2009 I believe, from the HKU (Fine Art School in Utrecht), where I focussed on painting. I created abstract, geometrical and precise work. To pay my rent I decided to make drawings to earn more money. The drawings would take less time since my paintings took weeks, mostly months to finish. I never thought I would fall in love with drawing eventually. Drawing enables me to awaken the stories in my head. My love for nature and her diversity in flora and fauna can get a stage. To my drawings, I can add sounds and movement and motivates my imagination endlessly.

Let’s Talk Design 2020

Hello again! 2020 has started and we are committed to organise at least 4 editions of Let’s Talk Design this year (Antwerpen, Gent, 2x Brussel). After organising these events since 2013 we’ll be introducing new hosts for some of the events. The first new host of 2020 is Chiel De Cuyper, He will be hosting and co-curating our Ghent edition.

Another thing that will change is that the number of student tickets will be limited for some locations because of the capacity.

So, for all of you who have been visiting our events. Thank you! Let’s Talk Design wouldn’t be possible without you.

An interview with Henry Daubrez of Dogstudio

Henry never liked school, he likes to have calm and green surrounding him when he is not at the studio. He likes the smell of the seasons, especially in early spring. He’s a big fan of pop culture and music, he always has his headphones on. And just like many creative people, he is an overthinker. Something that pushes him forward and at the same time puts a lot of pressure on him. He is a son, but also a dad, and a boyfriend. Henry is proud of what the whole team achieved with Dogstudio so far, and at the same time, he is also endlessly unsatisfied. “I am always convinced we can do better. “

Welcoming, challenging and frustrating.
Specifically within the communication/graphic design industry, there’s a strong connected community full of positive, friendly people. In Glasgow there are regular talks, meet-ups and exhibitions including Longlunch, The Design Kids, GAB, Graphic Design Festival Scotland and more. It’s difficult to speak for the other cities!  Continue reading 5 Questions with Warriors Studio

The brand new Zara logo

The 44-year Spanish old fast fashion retailer Zara introduced a new logo very recently (designed by Baron & Baron) and like every big logo redesign you have people screaming murder without being constructive in their criticism. It’s easy to do so, so let’s try to discuss this new logo. Continue reading The brand new Zara logo
